When Halloween rolls around, it’s all about those sugary snacks that steal the spotlight. But what about the savory side of things? If you’re hosting a spooky movie night or gearing up for trick-or-treating, you’ll want something easy and satisfying. That’s where these mummy hot dogs come in. They’re quick to make, taking just 35 minutes and 5 simple ingredients. Wrapped in buttery crescent dough and stuffed with cheese, they’re everything you’d want in a Halloween snack.

Here’s how to whip up these spooky treats:

  • Start with the crescent dough. You’ll need to seal those pieces together to form rectangles and then cut them into thin strips for wrapping your hot dogs. A little water can help seal the dough if needed.
  • For the cheese, we used American slices, but feel free to use your favorite melty cheese. Cheddar works great, or try a smear of cream cheese for a twist.
  • To give your mummy hot dogs their eerie eyes, use a toothpick to dot on some mustard after baking. You can also use a small piping bag or even ketchup. For an authentic touch, grab some candy eyeballs from the craft store. Feeling extra spooky? Add a few dots of ketchup for a blood-curdling effect.

As for storing these ghoulish delights, they’re perfect for prepping ahead. Freeze them before baking, or bake, cool, and freeze for up to a week. You can also store them in the fridge for 3-4 days. When you’re ready to enjoy, pop them in the oven at 350°F to 375°F until heated through.
