Monster Truffles

Posted on

Get ready for some spook-tacular fun with these adorable no-bake monsters, perfect for Halloween! These little guys are basically Oreo Truffles dressed up in their Halloween best. We start with the classic combo of crushed Oreos and cream cheese, but we’ve added some of our favorite candies to make them extra special. And when it comes to coating, we love to turn melted white chocolate green for that eerie effect, but candy melts will do the trick too. Just remember, nothing can replace those candy eyeballs!

Ingredients

  • 1 package 14 ounces of Oreos
  • 1 block 8 ounces of cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup of finely chopped Snickers
  • 1/2 cup of chopped Reese’s Pieces
  • 1 1/4 cups of white chocolate chips
  • 2 tablespoons of coconut or vegetable oil
  • Green gel food coloring
  • Candy eyeballs
  • Purple sprinkles

Instructions

  • Start by pulsing the Oreos in a food processor until they turn into fine crumbs. Transfer the crumbs to a medium bowl and mix in the softened cream cheese until everything is well combined. Then, stir in the chopped Snickers and Reese’s Pieces until they’re evenly distributed.
  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Using a small cookie scoop, shape the mixture into small balls and place them on the prepared baking sheet. Pop them in the freezer for about 30 minutes until they firm up slightly.
  • In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the white chocolate chips and oil together until smooth, stirring every 30 seconds. Stir in 10 drops of green gel coloring, adding more until you reach your desired monster shade.
  • Dip each frozen ball into the melted green chocolate until they’re fully coated, then use a fork to lift them out, letting any excess chocolate drip back into the bowl. Arrange them back on the parchment-lined baking sheet. Press a candy eyeball into the top of each coated truffle and sprinkle them with some purple sprinkles for extra fun.
  • Repeat the dipping process with the remaining frozen balls and melted white chocolate. Once done, freeze them until the chocolate hardens, about 15 minutes. Enjoy your spooky treats!
