I’ve got a new favorite for busy nights – Honey Butter Garlic Shrimp! Lots of garlic, lots of butter, and a bit of chili pepper for that extra flavor. But don’t worry, it’s not too spicy – just a little kick!

When you’re short on time and craving something seafood-y, Honey Butter Garlic Shrimp is the way to go. It’s got a touch of sweetness and a bit of spice, giving you the best of both worlds. Try it once, and I bet it’ll become a regular on your dinner table!

Honey Butter Garlic Shrimp

Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound large raw shrimp deveined
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • Vegetable oil for frying shrimp
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt adjust to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes optional
  • 2 to 4 tablespoons honey to taste
  • 1/2 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • Chopped cilantro or green onions for garnish

Method
 

  1. In a bowl, coat the shrimp evenly with cornstarch.
  2. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add vegetable oil. Fry the shrimp until golden on each side, making sure not to overcrowd the skillet. Fry in batches if necessary.
  3. Remove the shrimp and set aside. Drain excess oil from the pan and return it to the stove.
  4. Over medium heat, add olive oil, butter, minced garlic, red pepper flakes, honey, chili powder, salt, black pepper, and rice vinegar to the skillet. Stir and simmer. Once simmering, add 2 more tablespoons of butter and mix well.
  5. The sauce will thicken. Add the shrimp back into the skillet and toss until coated evenly with the sauce.
  6. Remove from heat, garnish with cilantro or green onions, and serve hot!
