Let’s whip up a classic New York sandwich – the famous chopped cheese! Imagine a cheeseburger all chopped up and packed into a sub, loaded with fresh veggies, and a drizzle of ketchup and mayo. Trust me, it’s worth a try!
Ingredients
Method
- Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add olive oil and butter.
- Toss in the onions, peppers, and garlic. Sauté for 3 to 4 minutes until softened.
- Add the ground beef and season with adobo, coriander, smoked paprika, cayenne, black pepper, and salt. Mix well.
- Let the ground beef cook for 5 to 6 minutes, breaking it up with a wooden spoon as it browns.
- Reduce the heat to low. Divide the meat into two to four sections, depending on the sandwich size. Place 1 to 2 slices of cheese on top of each section. Cover and let the cheese melt for about a minute or two.
- On toasted bread, layer avocado, lettuce, tomato, meat & cheese, ketchup, mayo, and optional bacon.
- Close the sandwich and enjoy it warm!
