Ingredients

  • 8 ounces of halloumi cheese 1 package
  • Vegetable oil for frying

**For the Flour Coating:**

  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Pinch of salt
  • Pinch of black pepper

**For the Egg Coating:**

  • 2 large eggs
  • Pinch of salt
  • Pinch of black pepper

**For the Panko Coating:**

  • 1 1/2 cups Panko breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Pinch of salt
  • Pinch of black pepper

Instructions

  • In a small bowl, whisk together the flour, paprika, dried parsley, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
  • In another small bowl, whisk together the eggs with a tiny pinch of salt and black pepper.
  • In a third small bowl, combine the Panko breadcrumbs, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
  • Place the block of halloumi cheese on a cutting board and slice it into long thin strips, resembling the shape of French fries.
  • Dip each piece first into the flour mixture, shaking off any excess. Then dip into the egg mixture, letting any excess drip off. Finally, dip into the Panko breadcrumb mixture. Repeat until all pieces are breaded.
  • Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan to 350°F.
  • Carefully drop the halloumi strips into the hot oil and fry until golden brown all around, which should take about 2 to 3 minutes if the oil is hot enough.
  • Remove the fried halloumi from the oil and transfer to a wire rack to drain any excess oil.
  • Serve your crispy halloumi fries with ketchup, marinara, or your favorite dipping sauce, and enjoy the deliciousness!
