Double Chocolate Banana Bread

Ingredients
  

  • 4 small very ripe bananas or 3 medium bananas
  • 1/2 cup melted unsalted butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs at room temperature
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/3 cup sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Peel the ripe bananas and mash them in a large mixing bowl until creamy.
  • In a new bowl, whisk together melted butter and granulated sugar. Add eggs and vanilla to the same bowl, whisking all ingredients together.
  • Add salt, sour cream, mashed bananas, and baking soda; combine the ingredients.
  • Sift in the flour and cocoa powder, then add to the batter. Beat just until it comes together; avoid overmixing.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips.
  • Pour the batter into a 9×5 loaf pan and optionally top with more chocolate chips.
  • Bake for 55-60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a cooling rack. Enjoy your delightful Chocolatey Banana Bread!
