Description

These cinnamon brown butter cookies are rich, warmly spiced, and packed with deep buttery flavor. They bake up with crisp edges, soft centers, and a cozy aroma that makes the whole kitchen smell amazing.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup light brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Place the butter in a saucepan over medium heat and cook, stirring often, until it melts, foams, and turns a golden brown with a nutty smell. Remove from the heat and let it cool slightly.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the browned butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar. Stir until the mixture looks smooth and well blended.
  3. Add the eggs and whisk until the batter looks shiny and evenly mixed.
  4. In a separate bowl, stir together the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt.
  5. Add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients a little at a time, mixing just until the dough comes together.
  6. Cover the dough and chill it in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
  7. Heat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  8. Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, leaving space between each cookie.
  9. Bake for about 12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly browned and the centers still look soft.
  10. Let the cookies rest on the baking sheet for a few minutes before moving them to a cooling rack.
