Ingredients

Scale

**Ground Beef:**

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 2 teaspoons minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon adobo seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon coriander
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Dash of cayenne (to taste)
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 green or red bell pepper (chopped)
  • 4 slices American cheese

**For Assembly:**

  • 2 rolls or sub bread (toasted)
  • Shredded lettuce
  • Tomatoes (sliced)
  • Avocados (thinly sliced)
  • Cooked beef bacon (optional)
  • Ketchup
  • Mayonnaise

Instructions

  1. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add olive oil and butter.
  2. Toss in the onions, peppers, and garlic. Sauté for 3 to 4 minutes until softened.
  3. Add the ground beef and season with adobo, coriander, smoked paprika, cayenne, black pepper, and salt. Mix well.
  4. Let the ground beef cook for 5 to 6 minutes, breaking it up with a wooden spoon as it browns.
  5. Reduce the heat to low. Divide the meat into two to four sections, depending on the sandwich size. Place 1 to 2 slices of cheese on top of each section. Cover and let the cheese melt for about a minute or two.
  6. On toasted bread, layer avocado, lettuce, tomato, meat & cheese, ketchup, mayo, and optional bacon.
  7. Close the sandwich and enjoy it warm!
